So, spring break is coming up for most of us. That means it's time to make plans (if you haven't already). Though, if you're anything like me, you've procrastinated and now you're ready to make some plans! I know for USC our spring break starts in a week so I sure did put my procrastinator's title to the test. Though it's never to late to have a great Spring Break! Plans or not!

I've been doing some research on my own and here are some of the suggestions I've come up with. I hope they help you too!! :D

  • Camping - there are a lot of good state parks in SC. When it comes to camping you have two options. Tent or Camper? Both have ups and downs and can be a lot of fun! With tent camping, while it would appear to be the lesser option, can be soooooooo much fun. Tent camping can be a real bonding experience and not to mention the more traditional 'outdoorsy-ness' of it. Some people don't have the option of camper camping, but if so, you might wanna think about breaking out that bad boy now and offering to host some friends for the break. Since it has been pretty cold (and a little rainy) these last few days, you are more likely to lure in friends with the idea of warm/dry camping. Another upside to camping, it's a lot less expensive than getting a hotel! (Assuming you already have all the camping gear you'd need) I believe most campsites cost roughly 8-20 dollars and considering you would be sharing the cost with your friends, I'd say that's a win win siduation! A good place to look to find where you'd want to go, is visit http://www.southcarolinaparks.com/camp/camp-main.aspx
  • Cabins - Another good 'camping' sort of idea to consider is cabins! Getting a cabin with your closest group of friends and just hanging out for a week can be AMAZING! A good place to research cabins ishttp://www.southcarolinaparks.com/cabins-resorts/cabins-villas.aspx though I personally would suggest either Table Rock or Oconee State Park. Table Rock because then you can climb the mountain together which is a great experience, and Oconee just because that's where I always used to go as a child with my family. :) Cabins at Table Rock are $80-135 and at Oconee they are $60-94.
  • Beach - A good common spring break plan is to head to the beach. Though, with our current weather I'm not sure exactly how much of the actual beach you would see. If you were born and raised in SC like me, then you probably have no intention of getting in the water. That being said, there is a lot more to do at the beach than just swimming/tanning! Just to get an idea of some of the beaches you can go to, visit here http://www.sciway.net/hotels/beaches.html
  • Zoo - A great day trip!! Zoos are always a great way to spend the day, especially with a group of friends. Assuming you don't want to travel to far, the first choice for which zoo to visit would most likely be http://www.riverbanks.org/ Riverbanks is a really good zoo and the one I'm most used to. That being said though, there are a lot more zoos in SC than just Riverbanks. I know there is one in Greenville. If you are interested in the idea, take a look around online a bit. Find out where else you might want to go. :) No matter what your age is, you can always find some way to enjoy the zoo.
  • Volunteer - A good way to spend any free time you can spare is volunteering. There are lots of volunteer opportunities around Columbia, and even more in SC as a whole. This is also a really good option if you weren't able to gather up a group and are looking at a lonely break at home. You can go herehttp://www.volunteermatch.org/search/index.jsp?l=south+carolina&... and find something that fits you. :D
I hope my ideas were able to help you come up with one for your spring break! Just keep in mind, no matter if you are alone or with a group, you can have a great spring break! Try to make the most of it. Even if that means staying inside and working on your backlog of homework you've been putting off. The time to catch up on your studies is now!

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT SPRING BREAK!!!

The Self-Conscious and the Camera

This thought crossed my head today: Should somebody with low self-esteem or someone who is self-conscious enter a job field where they are constantly in front of the camera? It may seem like an obvio…
