Fighting the Urge

Have any of you been in a situation where you know you have to do something and you should be doing something, but you always find yourself doing something that isn't what you're supposed to be doing? I know at first it sounds confusing but I'm pretty sure many of you can relate to what I'm talking about. Whether it you're sleeping in class when you should be taking notes, checking your facebook/myspace/twitter when you should be typing a paper or studying, playing video games when you should be… Continue

Cosmetic Help or All-Natural

The other day, I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Hurley, the head physician over at the Illumination MedSpa in Irmo. Originally walking in to his office, I was one of the people who was completely against using Botox or Lipo-Ex as a means to obtain a wrinkle-free face or abs to die for. Surprise...Surprise...SURPRISE!

Ok, for those who may remember, I posted a blog about a week or two ago asking for advice on what I should do for me and my girlfriend's anniversary. Here is what I decided to do: First, I am going to call her RA Advisor (she goes back on next monday and actually isn't supposed to be able to leave campus until the school year starts) and ask for Kristen to possibly have the weekend off or at least friday and saturday. Second, I am going to, if I'm able, take her down to Charleston and get a room… Continue

Child Discipline

This blog idea was brought up thanks in part to a discussion that I had today in my psychology course. We discussed how are kids being raised and disciplined. I personally, feel as though spanking a child is a good way to discipline them. I think that when you spank a child, you show them that doing something wrong can result in them feeling pain. Now, when I made this statement to my class, I recieved a lot of looks of disbelief. Many people then spoke on the idea that spanking is a sign of chi… Continue

Internship Blues

For the last two months, I have been involved in a hands-on internship with WACH-FOX TV here in Columbia, SC. Over the course of these two months, the work has been immense and they have given us a lot of assignments that have challenged us and given us the experience that we will need in an ever-growing industry. But, it feels as though the time has gone by so fast. It feels like just yesterday, we were embarking on a journey that would probably take forever to end. And now today, we only have… Continue

The Self-Conscious and the Camera

This thought crossed my head today: Should somebody with low self-esteem or someone who is self-conscious enter a job field where they are constantly in front of the camera? It may seem like an obvio…
